With the recent RuneScape 3 BETA release SwiftKit also needed to evolve in order to support the latest HTML5 technology. Previously SwiftKit used Internet Explorer to load RuneScape in, now however, users have the option to use Chrome instead. This means that you will be able to take full advantage of the all new RuneScape 3 HTML5 technology, all within SwiftKit. There's no denying that RuneScape works best in Google Chrome, you will see immediate performance enhances.

This update we see various changes made to the Calculators. The most notable change has been the refresh of the Max Hit calcs. Both the ranged and melee Max Hit calcs have been brought up to date and now much more accurate. We haven't added all possible options to them just yet, so if you'd like something added please hit us up on the forums and suggest it.

In addition to the Max Hit calc changes we've also made the columns in the Progress Calc sortable. So now you can sort your goals by any of the fields. See the full story for a full list of the changes. Also remember to head over to the SwiftKit Forums if you have any suggestions or problems.

Recently we've noticed an alarming trend of players thinking that SwiftKit is either unsafe to use or outright illegal. With both being completely untrue I thought it's time we cleared a few things up and explained. By doing so hopefully it will help those confused and misinformed along with helping avid SwiftKit users explain to others what the deal is.

The SwiftKit project has been running for over 8 years now and we intend to continue it for a lot longer. We do not force players to use the SwiftKit client, however, we do not appreciate players spreading false and potentially reputation damaging comments. The SwiftKit team works hard to maintain the safety of users. In aims of transparency, I will address two of the most common misconceptions regarding SwiftKit below.

We're pleased to announce a new partnership and integration with one of the longest running and most helpful RuneScape fansites out there - Tip.It. As a result of the new integration, SwiftKit is now using Tip.It as it's primary source of RuneScape data. This includes items, prices, npcs, guides etc. To begin with things might not seem too different, however down the track we'll be making updates to utilise all the useful data that Tip.It has to offer.

In the latest round of updates to SwiftKit we see a bunch of a fixes and a few new additions. One notable new addition is the new Custom Bonus for the Skills Calc. This means you can now enter in your own bonus modifier. Which should be much easier than trying to accommodate all the new bonuses that get released.

For a full list of changes see the full story. I'd like to mention also that we're well aware of the issues the new in-game top menubar is causing. We're not a fan of this menubar at all and hope to believe Jagex are working hard to either remove it or add a toggle option very soon. We suggest complaining about it on the RuneScape Forums.

The latest round of updates sees some changes to the Launcher and update process as well as the re-addition of ImageShack as a screenshot upload host option.

Launcher Security & Updates
Recent events has sparked us to review the security protocols of SwiftKit. We learned that unauthorized updates(not possible with SwiftKit) is not the only way users can be harmed. There are other ways, similar to last weeks events that not only SwiftKit but all other fansites are vulnerable to. For this reason we've decided to introduce a 'Killswitch' into the SwiftKit Launcher. This will give us the ability to disable SwiftKit from starting up should it ever not be safe to do so.

One down side to SwiftKit being as popular and successful as it is, means that it has a giant target on its back. Today we unfortunately experienced the effect of that., which is a shame really as we only exist to offer a free helpful tool to players...It really is unfortunate. As always though, we aim to be as transparent about the situation as possible.

The Mac client hasn't had some love in a while, and that's mostly due to how Jagex has reworked how the applet works on the Mac OS X. Now that RuneScape forces the applet to pop out of a standard webpage it caused conflicts with the way the Mac client worked.

It was a problem our Mac developer dTwizy and the staff decided to attack head-on. And the genius that is named dTwizy has found a workaround. And trust me, you're going to love it.

Holy smokes it's a SwiftKit update! I know, I know. It's been awhile. Even longer since the last chat client update. Things have been a little slow this end mainly due to us focusing on the Mobile apps and the Mac client. We do however have a great update this time around though for those that use the chat.

The SwiftIRC team have got together and addressed a number of outstanding bugs and also implemented some great new and improved features. Most notably being the new ignore system. This feature has been totally re-worked to be far more simpler and effective to use. This chat client update is the first of a few to come, so if you have any suggestions be sure to post them on the SwiftKit forums.

You've probably noticed that there hasn't been a great deal of SwiftKit for Windows development lately. That's partly because I was overseas travelling, but the main reason is we've been focusing on our mobile alternatives. If you've been living under a rock and aren't aware, we now have mobile versions of SwiftKit for both Android and iOS devices.

Some of the features include Stat Lookups, Item and NPC Lookups, GE Prices, Skill Calculators, World Map, Adventure Log lookup and much more. So what are you waiting for? Head on over to the Android Marketplace or iTunes Store and checkout SwiftKit Mobile. You will find we offer both a free version, and a more feature enhanced full version.

Over the last few updates we've been trialing a GE prices option in the Item Lookups. So far so good, so we've decided to take it one step further. This update brings a new button that allows you to view the price history graphs that are normally found on the official Grand Exchange. You are given the options of 30, 90 and 180 day graphs.

The feature seems to work really well with the exception of how slow the RuneScape website is. Hopefully Jagex release a "lite feed" of the GE like they did of the Hiscores. Until then there isn't much we can do about the speed.

It's been awhile since we've added a new feature to SwiftKit, but with our latest recruitment drive development has started up once again. This update brings a new tool to the Highscore Tools - "Party Compare". The new tool allows you to compare a party of players to see who has the highest level in each skill. Calculations are done by highest XP and can be done with three or more player names entered. We hope that players find this new tool especially helpful while Dungeoneering.

As mentioned earlier, we now have around 15 new staff members that are full of ideas and eager to see SwiftKit improve. We've currently got a list of great upcoming additions that should allow us to release larger updates more frequently.

After a slow month or two of development we now have an update for you that's news post worthy. So what's in the update? Well the main feature of this update is the new ability to crop screenshots within the Screenshot Viewer.(View > Screenshots > Screenshot Viewer)

To crop a screenshot, simply right click and select an area of the screenshot you wish to crop. Once you crop it you then have the option to save, or revert. We've tried to make this as straight forward as possible, however please be aware that you need to save the cropped screenshot if you wish to upload it.

First up apologies for this update taking so long. Originally it was just going to consist of the Constitution/Hitpoints changes but turned out to be an Armory revamp update. The Armory revamp consists of bug fixes, improved sharing and a brand new feature.

In the Armory (Utilities > Armory) you will now find a new third tab, labeled "Inventory". This new feature allows you to create, store and share inventory profiles.

Over the past few months I’ve had a little project going of my own to redo the SwiftKit website. The previous one was functional, but a bit ugly. I’ve decided to take it upon myself to give the site a much needed face lift, increasing some usability and to give it just a bit more RuneScape-related content. It is finally done and live, with some noticeable new changes you should be made aware about.

With Jagex's release of the Adventure's Log, we have been pondering what exactly we could do with it. We identified where the browser-based interface was lacking and how we could improve it with SwiftKit RS. Thus, the Adventure Log Center was born. The Adventurer Log Center is located under the Utilities menu and consists of two sections, which are the Lookup and Notifications.

The Lookup tab is similar to the other lookups in SwiftKit. Entering a valid username (has membership, Adventure Log set to public) and searching will show all their recent activity, neatly arranged in a table with appropriate icons, date and description. Continue reading in the full story...

It's been awhile since the last SwiftKit RS update. The reason for that is because nothing major has changed. We have however made a whole bunch of minor changes and fixes so instead of waiting for something big I've decided to push the update.

You will of already seen the new splash images on the Launcher. Instead of just picking one of the top five we decided to use all five. The Server Status was no longer working due to some changes on the server list page so the utility has had a bit of a revamp.

In this update we see an expansion on an existing utility and a brand new one. The two new features are the Farming Calculator and the Achievement Diary Center. Over the years a Farming calculator was suggested to us countless times, however we never wanted to do one as the XP you receive always varied. What we've done however is include only the items that give a non-varied amount of XP. So in case you are wondering why some items are missing, that is why.

The Achievement Diary Center is a new utility but you will find that it is very similar to the Quest Center. The Achievement Diary Center was designed to keep track of which diary entries you have completed and also which you are eligible to start. To use this utility effectively you will need to also have an up-to-date Quest Center profile, as the quest requirements are linked to your Quest Center profile.

Just a small update this time, with the addition of a new setting. Under File > Options > Settings you will now find a new option that allows you to select a fixed screenshot size. This option is for those who are running huge screen resolution and want average sized screenshots. Currently there are 4 or so pre-set sizes, if you want another feel free to suggest it on the forums.

Not much else has been happening, development has been pretty slow the last few months. We're always open to suggestions on the forums. So if you would like to see something added or changed, head over to the forums and let us know.

They say good things come in three, and in this case they would be correct. Over the past month or two we've been pretty quiet, well there's a reason for that and it will be explained in this news post. The news post will be split up into the three announcements, so let's get started with SwiftKit MS.

SwiftKit MS
SwiftKit MS stands for SwiftKit MechScape, the title should be somewhat self-explanatory. The SwiftKit Team will be developing a ToolKit for Jagex's new upcoming MMORPG, MechScape. The current SwiftKit that you know will be renamed to SwiftKit RS. While SwiftKit RS and SwiftKit MS will be two completely separate applications, they will still share some things such as the SwiftKit Launcher and your SwiftKit profile.

In this update the Screenshot Viewer utility receives some long put off attention. We've improved a number of existing features and added some new ones. The most noticeable addition would be the ability to upload multiple screenshots in one go.

The way the multi-uploader will work is, if you select more than one screenshot and click upload the multi-uploader will appear and automatically begin uploading each screenshot one by one. Once all the screenshots have uploaded, you will have the option to copy the uploaded screenshot links to clipboard.

The Events Hub is a utility that will allow you to not only view and import events but also set reminders for when an event is about to start. The utility is split into two sections. Zybez Events and User Events. The Zybez Events section will list public events organized by the Zybez Events Team, this is a constantly updated list so check it frequently for newly added events. The User Events section however is a place where you can import events from friends, fan sites or your clan.

To create an event that can be imported into the User Events section, simply head on over to the create event section on the SwiftKit website. We're hoping that clans and fan sites will find this new utility extremely useful, as it's quite hard sometimes keeping up with RuneScape event.

For a long time now we've been meaning to revamp the Progress Calc, even before SwiftKit. During the transition from SwiftSwitch to SwiftKit however we didn't get the chance to take a look at it. Now that we've had the chance, we decided to scrap the old Progress Calc and come up with something completely new.

The biggest issue with the old Progress Calc was that you couldn't edit or update a goal once it had been set. With the new Progress Calc however, you will have the ability to add, remove and even edit single goals as you please.

For those not familiar with the Progress Calc, you can find it under Utilities > Calculators. It's a feature that allows you to create skill goals.

As many of you noticed with last nights RuneScape update, it's now possible to resize the game window if you play on High Detail. With the way SwiftKit was setup, there was no way to take advantage of this. This update however will hopefully address that.

SwiftKit now has a new option that will auto size the game area, as with all options in SwiftKit you can disable it via File > Options > Settings. If you use Low Detail it's recommended that you do turn it off. When you resize your SwiftKit window, it will move your utilities with it.

There is also a new option added that allows you to hide the utilities on the right hand side. Which will give you a "Full Screen Windowed Mode" feel.

Finally it's arrived, the update we've been promising you for months now. This update brings a multitude of fixes and features to the existing IRC Client. Some of these include nickname highlights, loggings, clickable URL's, properly working themes, channel list, auto identify and channel or PM now flashes when something is said. That's only a few of the changes and additions, not to mention a whole bunch of bug fixes that were causing crashes.

So please, if the IRC Client was holding you(or a friend) back from using SwiftKit we urge you to give it a go again. With the latest update the IRC Client in SwiftSwitch is of no comparison to the updated one in SwiftKit.

This update brings a new addition to SwiftKit, the Atlas which can be found under the Utilities menu. The Atlas has four main uses, Treasure Locator, Searchable locations, ability to save locations and finding the closest transport. You can read about these features in detail in the full story.

After updating you would of noticed a new addition to the Launcher, Tips. When you open SwiftKit the Launcher will display a random SwiftKit Tip at the bottom. With some tips you can click them for more information.

You will also notice a change to the Screenshots menu, three new pre-set screenshot options. These are all self-explanatory, if you're after a screenshot of just your bank you would select Screenshot Bank and it will screenshot only your bank. We've added easy access to these new screenshot options, you can access them via the Screenshot Namer tab.

This update is the final update to the scrollbar changes. Over the last few updates we've made some major changes to how scrolling works in SwiftKit. Previously it was a rough, jumpy experience trying to scroll, not to mention the mouse wheel didn't work. This was quite annoying for a lot of people.

Well that's all been fixed now with the new Scrollbar control, which after this update now supports mouse wheel scrolling. Also you will now find you get an hourglass mouse pointer icon when SwiftKit is grabbing information, this gives a better indication that SwiftKit is busy fetching the data.

The Mp3 player would have to be one of the most suggested features throughout time for both SwiftKit and SwiftSwitch. Our main concern for not implementing one was that it would use too much resources, however after doing a lot of research we've found an audio library that's extremely lightweight and perfect for what we wanted.

You will now find the Mp3 player in a new tab beside the Quick Links tab with the icon of a musical note. We encourage you to give it a test and post any problems or comments on the SwiftKit forums.

A fair few bugs fixed and minor changes made this update along with two rather large changes. The two changes are the ability to move the left hand side tabs around, and the security layer added to the updating process. Both of which will require a fair bit of testing.

The move tabs around is fairly self explanatory, you right click on the tab you want to move and select unlock. The security layer update will need to be tested over the next few updates so I might force some bogus updates in a day or two to make sure it's all working fine.

Ok so the armory is an entirely new feature. It has two utilities which serve two different purposes. The Comparer is self explanatory, you simply load two items up and it lets you compare them. Currently the comparing is up to you to do but when I get some ideas I'll add something in.

This update I've added an entirely new feature, the Quest Center. Since neither SwiftKit or SwiftSwitch had much support for questing we've come up with a few tools to help. The first is a simple quest guide viewer, where you can view and search the Zybez Quest Guides. The second is a Rewards tool where you can view/search all the rewards from every quest. Lastly and the biggest is the Quest Planner, this allows you to create a quest profile saving all the quests you've completed allowing it to show you which ones you are eligible to start.

The Quest Center is not a finished product so we'd appreciate your comments and suggestions. Along with the Quest Center there are a number of bug fixes and a few other little things.
