SwiftKit News
Today marks another significant milestone for us. According to our ever-dandy download counter, we have just surpassed 2 million downloads since the client was released in late 2008. As you can imagine, that is one heck of an accomplishment.
SwiftKit has always remained the top of its kind, with nothing even coming close to competing. We have never paid for advertising or marketing, and have gained our user base from word-of-mouth alone. With that, we would like to thank you all for sticking with us throughout our life, and wish you do so in the future.
As a little treat, we would like to formally introduce one project we have been slowly working on, which is SwiftKit Chrome. It is a Chrome extension which will attempt to be a port of the client in the Chrome browser. Right now it’s in a very early public alpha test available for testing here. Note that it isn’t even close to being finished, as we still have a lot to work on.
In other news, you may have noticed the internal news page changing layouts lately. We have been playing around with different layouts that helps to work with us and the users better. Bear with us as we find one that works best. :)

Fire 37, SwiftKit is totally legal. Before I first used it, I asked 3 mods in my clan if it was okay, they all said yes and 2 of them even used it themselves. ;)
SwiftKit doesn't give you any in-game advantage over anyone else, it's just there to help you gather information, plan ahead, calculate costs or xp gains, etc., just like a fansite, except this is awesome.
It doesn't bot for you, it doesn't auto-type or whatever, you still have to do all the work yourself.
If it was illegal Jagex would have taken counter-actions years ago. Instead, they just tried to steal a lot of the functions... If I was Jagex, I would have bought this toolkit long ago, and the Bluelight Dev team would be working from a tropical island, sipping on a sweet ****tail in the shade. =]

I've been using SwiftSwitch and later SwiftKit since the earliest days and I cannot even try to express how helpful it has been to me. I'm now cmb 137 and just a few sum lvls away from cmb 138 but I really don't think I would even still be playing RuneScape if I had never known this tool.
It covers about 99% of all my needs, from quest guides to skill calculators, and from item info all the way to IRC chat (offering, for example, awesome possibilities to clans).

only a fracton of that play AT A TIME. in reality, runescape has around... oh i dont know, 6 MILLION accounts? something that big anyways. its bigger then 2 mil.
Yes as Fre4ked said that is why runescape is regonized been recognised as the most popular free MMORPG in the world twice now, with a certificate awarded by Guinness World Records

SwiftKit is a wonderful tool for runescape, and this is coming from someone who has been playing for four years! I just found out about swiftkit about a week ago and it has already helped a great deal. Thank you Bluelight Dev!

I'm not suprised at all, because SwiftKit rocks!
Perhaps you guys could work on letting us customize our own Swiftkit so we can have different things in different places.
I would love to have my Highscores back down the bottom where IRC is like SwiftSwitch used to have years ago, and the IRC be moved to the right where the Highscores thing is atm.
Just having the options to move stuff around like that ourselves will help alot.
Perhaps another feature for the people with larger screens is to have another tab where Highscores/Item Lookup/Quick Links/Music is and make it a web browser so people can use Clan Forums/Myspace-Facebook/Etc while they are playing runescape without having to open up another page which covers Swiftkit when browsing.
So for a reward to your customers.... Do we all get private strippers sent to our house?

Congrats! Btw, tried the SwiftKit Chrome Extension, great work on it so far! Something else that'll improve over time :).
